Overview of plate falling film evaporator

Plate falling film evaporator is a new type evaporator developed in 1980s, which has the advantages of high heat transfer coefficient, low steam consumption and easy scar removal. It has been successfully applied to alkali recovery in paper industry, food, medicine and chemical industry.  

The principle of plate falling film evaporator

When the evaporator works, the feed liquid enters the distributor from the top of the heating chamber, so that the feed liquid is evenly distributed on both sides of the vertical plate heating element and falls in a film shape. The heating steam enters the cavity of the hollow heating element through the air inlet port to cool and release heat, and the released heat makes the feed liquid flowing down the outer wall of the heating element be heated and evaporated to be concentrated, and the generated secondary steam passes through the separator and is discharged outside.

Characteristics of Plate Falling Film Evaporator

The plate falling film evaporator uses the gravity of the solution to make the solution pass through the film distribution device and form a film on the wall of the heating plate. Because of the small film thickness and large free surface of evaporation, the evaporator has high heat transfer coefficient and large water evaporation capacity.
